The Art of Self Expression Through Music and Drawing for Adults

  • Royal Arsenal School of Music , Beresford Street London, England, SE18 United Kingdom (map)

I am very happy to invite you to a fundraising workshop of live Music and Drawing for the new space at the Royal Arsenal School of Music

RASM is an independent school of music run by two wonderful musicians Ros Wilks and Sally Wragg. They teach and encourage performance for each one of their students. They started by teaching piano and now they teach an orchestra of instruments.

In this workshop we will explore together how music can affect us. What we listen to has a resonance internally. Have you ever wondered how our body responds to music? how can we express it ? Often enough words come short but maybe our hands/body can express better.

This workshop has been designed by myself, Ros and Sally to bring to you the magic of Music and Drawing. Ros and Sally will play music for you and guide you through different notes and genres. While I will guide you through the drawing part: For the drawing section you do not need any previous skills; it will be very simple.  All you need is curiosity and a willingness to try. The aim is to give you a different perspective on how Music affects you from inside and how your body responds to it. Our hope is that you will have fun and possibly a sense of freedom to explore yourself and your responses through drawing.

Please note there is no right or wrong or any specific end result. We like to invite you to engage in the process just like when you listen to your favourite music and can gently dance to it. Here we will give you a piece of pastel and ask your hand to dance on paper.

We have put this program together to raise funds for The Royal Arsenal School of Music.

There will be an Art Sale happening too. The artwork on the walls of the current school will be marked half price and 50% off the sales will go towards building the new school for everyone to enjoy.

COST: £25
There is a limit of 15 people per workshop, so please book soon to avoid disappointment! The workshops will be held in the current RASM building.
